How CoolSculpting Can Help You Lose Excess Weight?

Diet and exercise is the ideal way to lose weight, but sometimes it's just not enough. CoolSculpting offers a simple way to get rid of unattractive fat without surgery. Robert Chappell, Jr., M.D. and Ritchie Rosso, M.D., your Odessa, TX, dermatologists at Laser & Aesthetic Center, explain how CoolSculpting can help you get rid of excess weight.

How does CoolSculpting work?

CoolSculpting kills fat cells by exposing them to very cold temperatures. Although your fat cells are sensitive to cold, your healthy cells aren't. During treatment, the only cells that will die are the fat cells. Each treatment lasts about one to three hours and begins with the placement of a gel pad on your skin to protect it during the treatment.

After applying the gel pad, your dermatologist places the CoolSculpting applicator against your skin. When the applicator is turned on, it begins to cool the targeted fat cells. In just one visit, you may notice a 20 percent reduction in fat, although you'll probably want to return for additional visits to experience the full benefits of CoolSculpting.

What happens to the dead fat cells?

The fat cells are naturally eliminated by your body and can never return. As long as you don't gain any wait, you'll maintain your results.

Does CoolSculpting hurt?

CoolSculpting doesn't hurt but you may feel very cold during the first few minutes of treatment. Once your skin becomes numb, you probably won't notice the cold as much. You may also feel a slight tugging sensation during treatment because the applicator uses vacuum pressure when it attaches to your skin. It's not unusual to notice a little tingling or redness after the treatment ends, but it should go away quickly. Since CoolSculpting isn't painful, your treatment session offers the perfect opportunity to read a book or catch up on your emails.

Does CoolSculpting sound like the ideal way to get rid of your love handles for good? Why not call Drs. Chappell and Rosso, your Odessa, TX, dermatologists at Laser & Aesthetic Center, at (432) 333-6603 and make an appointment? Say goodbye to stubborn fat cells with CoolSculpting!
